One of the highlights, for me, in most 70's/80's mags was the 'Readers Wives' section. Most readers will know that there was no such section in SWISH! although some amatuer shots were included in the 'Readers Letters' section from time to time.
Recently I've discovered several models who appeared in the pages and on the cover of SWISH! in other titles posing as 'Readers Wives'
Whether their status as 'Readers Wives' is genuine is questionable but it did get me wondering whether they started off submitting amateur shots and were offered professional work or if it was just a case of a quiet month for contributions to the RW section so the publishers just used whatever was lying around the office. We'll probably never know for certain.
